The original cottages appeared along the banks of Howe Sound around 1910. No one can verify an exact date as their origin has been lost to the mists of time but it's safe to say they're well over 100 years old. Speculation is that they were built by the Union Steamship Company as vacation rentals, as they did in other locations on the West Coast.
Others will tell you they were fishermen's cottages, used when they were in the area chasing Chinook, Pink, Sockeye and Chum salmon. Extensively modernized by the current owner they now host updated kitchens, bathrooms, natural gas fireplaces and insulation. These unique, tiny homes offer a fantastic alternative to investing in a big box strata and enjoy a near constant waitlist of potential tenants. Come and see this magical enclave from a vanishing, bygone era.
